I sort of hate the forward-dated sticky post thing, but what can you do?

It seems pretentious, or just presumptuous, to have a fic index for a handful of stories. You can find my fanfiction here in my memories. I may repost the [info]bandom_flashfic stuff here someday, in which case you'll be able to find it under the fic tag. Until then, there's nothing to see.

Constructive criticism is always welcome. Anonymous comments are enabled, and screened, if you don't feel like leaving feedback with your name attached to it. I've got a filter for beta-feedback and WIPs too, if anyone wants in on it.

I would not say that I am precisely a fan of Gabe Saporta. I don't dislike him, it's just that his music isn't my groove. However, I stumbled across this blog entry, and I sort of love it.

And if I were to continue being an asshole, I’d just be a fucking bully. Because if you’ve made it (at least “made it” enough to where you don’t have to worry about where your next meal is coming from, or worry about how you’re going to pay your rent), and you’re still sarcastic, you’re just a dickhead bully.

And I was fucked by bully’s my whole life. And that’s the last thing I ever want to do; become what I hate.

the theme this week at [info]anon_lovefest is heroes. I was sort of expecting the tricksy "you'd be my hero if you wrote this" prompt, but I laughed out loud at the ones where one character is a hero for engineering one of the threesomes people are always prompting for.

RPF Fandom and I get along better when I don't actually know anything about the people in question.

I just had a horrifying (to me, and probably to him) conversation with at one of my friends about who's following who on twitter, in the wake of the (gasp!) news that Jon's not following Brendon and Spencer (and Zack? though I have no idea who he was following before. Pete?).

In other news, I heard on the radio last weekend that Kevin Jonas was getting married, and that a roller skating rink was somehow involved.

Sometimes, there is a Real Life event, and it becomes a plot bunny, but most of the time, it completely kills my urge to write anything until I build up a new buffer of la-la-la make-believe between myself and whoever.

Also! Sort of related. I have this problem with cheating. Big, huge problem, mental block, squick, whatever you want to call it. This includes fictional cheating, like, where the people are not actually cheating, except on their real life counterparts. I'll read it most of the time, but I just can't write my way around it. Once someone is married, I just can't go there, unless its like 20-year future fic and their relationship has been allowed to die a natural death.

This [Uhura] is also the reason I can't read Kirk/Spock Reboot fic. It's interesting to me, actually, that I have a bigger squick about taking a fictional character's AU boyfriend away than I do with totally retconning someone out of real life.

I'd be really curious to know, though I'm sure it would vary from person to person, whether significant others would prefer being replaced by an original character in fic, if they're just going to be a plot device, or whether that's worse than being written about in the first place.

I don't care

(no subject)

I have been totally sucked into the music of Owl City, sort of against my will. I'm already starting to tire of Fireflies, which is good, but The Bird and the Worm, and Hot Air Balloon, in particular, are just so... happy.

I haven't meandered off the main page music player into the albums yet. I'm frightened that I might like what I find and need to buy something.

ten thousand lightning bugs, Brendon/Spencer, G.

Title: ten thousand lightning bugs
characters/pairing: Brendon/Spencer
rating: G
summary: "Brendon nods to himself in the dark, because, of course. It's a Valentine's dance. The kind you bring your date chocolate and flowers and, like, a Hallmark card for. Not the kind you go to with just your friend. Not your guy friend."
a/n: 2450 words, written for an anon_lovefest prompt. Cliched high school movie plot is cliched.

I get a thousand hugs from ten thousand lightning bugs, as they try to teach me how to dance. A foxtrot above my head, a sock hop beneath my bed, a disco ball is just hanging by a thread )

I don't understand fluff.

I tried. I TRIED. But seriously? "They were happy. Look, more happy! Stilllllll happy!" How is that a plot?

Fic: Don't want to miss a thing, Pete/Patrick

Written for an [info]anon_lovefest prompt (Pete/Patrick. Just some domestic fluff where Pete is all sappy and in love and feels like he's gonna burst of happiness just by thinking he sleeps next to Patrick every night..) while I was waiting in the laundromat.
PG for swearing. 745 words.

@petewentz: "I am more aerodynamic"

So, Pete Wentz and Mark Hoppus had a deal that Mark could do whatever he wanted to Pete's hair on stage at the end of the tour.

Done, and done.

In response to handful of comments and tweets I've seen in the hour since it happened?
emo cat

Good God, people. It's hair. It'll grow back.
